'80s fever

In about a year, I’ll be graduating college and in the market for my first car. I’ve been driving my parents’ 760 Turbo for years and love it, only thing that could make it better is a stick. Recently, I’ve also gotten the hots for the MkII Supra, Fox-Body notchbacks, and E30s. There’s just something about the straight lines and blocky/wedge-ey silhouettes of ‘80s cars that does it for me. Anyone else have the affliction?

I fully support and love each car you’ve mentioned, but lust after a notch Fox. I’ve considered trading my ‘98 Z28 more times than I can count. I don’t care if they’re slow!

Give me one (preferably black) on some 17" Mavromont Pony R replicas. Skinny up front and wide out back, just like below.

I’d warm over the 5.0 with full bolt ons (and a ported GT40P intake), a ZEX kit, call TKO for my 5spd needs, throw some 3.55s and Mosers in the 8.8 and do Cobra discs on all four corners. I’d build mine very very sleepy and shoot for 11's while looking nearly stock.

I think it’s fair to say I too suffer from uncontrollable 80's car lust, considering these things live in my driveway.

That second one is basically a CelicaSupra underneath. Great platform.

My parents actually had a matched set of wagon and sedan in gold! The wagon had a run-in with a deer, but the sedan soldiers on. I see quite a few others around here in the Bay Area.

There are plenty of former CHP cruisers around where I am that come up for sale. How cool would it be to have a Mustang that’s also a cop car? The notch is definitely my favorite silhouette of the Fox ‘stangs.

Agreed. I have a thing for ex police vehicles. 9C1 Caprices, P71 Crown Vics, B4C Camaros and SSP Mustangs. I think the irony of taking an old service car and building something to tear up the streets in is lovely. I’d take a hatch in a heartbeat, but dat notch tho...

No, but that was also the first thing I did to it when I got it. W58 5-speed from a non-turbo MK3 Supra.
